In its 8th successive year, the programme of Service Co-ordination Events provides an opportunity for local residents to meet with key service providers to discuss local issues. Events are normally organised at some point during a parish planning process either to help inform parish plans or to take forward actions arising from them.
Leicestershire Rural Partnership will host the event within the parish and arrange for service providers such as the local Police, Primary Care Trust, Highways Department, Young Peoples Services and the local District Council to attend. In return the Parish will promote to its residents and identify in advance keys service issues that they would wish to discuss.
Every event has resulted in an action plan of improvements or aspirations responding to the specific service provision-related needs of the local community.
Over the last year, events have been held in Harby, Mountsorrel, Woodhouse, and in some cases clusters of villages such as Long Whatton and Diseworth, and Long Clawson, Eastwell and Stathern.
