"Thanks to your steer, managed to obtain £1k towards the defib from Leics CC 'Big Society' fund..thank you"!

Martin Buczkiewicz (Osgathorpe Parish Council)

The parishioners of Osgathorpe have already raised funds for one defibrillator unit, but felt that, due to the geographical sprawl of the settlement, they needed a defib unit at both ends of the village.

They approached the Rural Community Council Leicestershire and Rutland who sign posted them to Leicestershire County Council's 'Big Society Grant Fund'.

An application was submitted, showing strong evidence of need from the community,(questionnaires, surveys, evidence etc.) which was reviewd on 25th January 2013. It was successful receiving the maximum award for this type of project of £1000. The Parish have planned fund raising events to generate the balance.
