'Foundations for the Future'

Leicestershire Rural Partnership held its 12th Rural Conference at Scalford Hall in the heart of Leicestershire's picturesque countryside on Thursday 1st March 2012.

The event was attended by over 100 business, community and public sector representatives. The key note speech was provided by Adam Henson from the BBC's Countryfile programme, who talked about the challenges and opportunities for farming including opportunities for diversification. His enthusiastic presentation was well received by all whom attended.

Attendees also heard from Sarah McAdam, Head of the Rural Communities and Policy Unit at Defra and Louise Driver from the Leicestershire Rural Partnership, on national and local rural priorities, respectively.

The event launched the Leicestershire Rural Framework 2011-2014.
